Introduction

This is a webquest to guide you through your own personal physical fitness journey. Physical fitness is a lifelong journey- it must happen everyday for your whole life. There are many ways to achieve physical fitness and this webquest will give you some options to use for your journey toward lifelong physical fitness. So, lets get to work.
 
 



The Task

You are going to be shown different ways to reach your optimal physical fitness level. At the end of this quest you will know lifelong skills to  guide you  on your journey for physical fitness.



The Process
First you must find out your current level of fitness. To do this take "The Presidents Challenge"test.
Now that you nave your fitness level lets try to make improvements. Make sure you stretch properly before any activity. Choose two of the following activities to do at least three days a week. (You may do more but have at least two days rest during the week)
1. Walking/jogging/ running      1-3 miles (see: http://www.cyberparent.com/fitness

2.Weight lifting
3. Swimming
4.Volleyball
5. Basketball
6. Tennis
7. Soccer
8.Racquetball

Second, You must eat right. Nutrition is very important. "You are what you eat" . Eating the right foods will give you energy to exercise and still be able to do other things throughout the day. Cut down on the amounts of fats and sugars you eat. Eat more vegetables and fruits.

Evaluation
 
You must keep a journal for four weeks. Include in your journal the exercises you did each day and for how long. Also, include what you ate for each day. For example:
Monday   Aug. 1st
Walked-1 mile
Ran      -1 mile
Lifted weights-30 min.
Total time exercising- 40 min.

Breakfast-  2 cups cereal
                    1 glass orange juice

Lunch-  Ham sandwich
              Potato chips
             Milk

Dinner- Chicken
              Green Beans
              Corn
              Tea
At the end of each week also record your weight.

Your grade will come from your journal and your shown improvement on the physical fitness test. Each day in  your journal you can earn 3 Points. Your improvement on the fitness test is worth 16 Points.
At the end of the four weeks retake "The Presidents Challenge".

 



Conclusion

You have now developed a lifelong exercise program and followed through with it for four weeks. You know different exercises you can use and how to eat properly for optimum physical fitness. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Follow through with this plan for a healthy and happy life.
