Presentation on Scheduling Software by Terry Mcclannon.
-
A way to schedule Rooms, Labs, and equipment from an online
format using FD server.
-
Security Groups now possible with this version
-
Includes e-mail notification
-
Could be
beneficial to the University as a whole
-
Allows everyone to view availability of the rooms and equipment
-
Searchable fields are available
-
Faculty will not directly reserve spaces (This policy should
be discussed)
-
Will this help with equipment security? Probably not.
-
Could another software package meet our college needs?
-
Faculty
will be able to lookup information on availability for activities, and materials,
but will not be able to schedule classes.
Committee will communicate recommendations to the dean regarding room scheduling.
Could use a message board to expand conversations regarding committee recommendations.
Discussion on anti spam software:
-
Put in
place by ITAC to reduce wasted space
-
All
users need to be better informed about the implications of policy and how
to “get around” universally imposed limits
-
Lager issue
may be failure of ITS to appropriately consult and follow recommendations
of ITAC.
-
The Dean may be the only person who can confront this issue
at the Deans Council. The individuals making these decisions need to be
held accountable.
-
Tech consultants are experiencing the same issue with accountability
-
Long term
agenda item: how to promote accountability
TAC members should let department members know about these issues.
Student Concerns:
Appalnet Subcommittee should be created.
Roberto Question: Does FDN 3100 meet technology portfolio requirements?
No, it prepares them to put their materials for there portfolio.
A nondebatable motion to adjourn
w, as made, seconded, and approved by action of foot.
