Minutes, 21 Sept. 2001

All TAC meeting are scheduled on Fridays from 10:30 - 11:30 in the Greene-Oakes conference room (EDH # 314).The dates follow: Sept. 7, Sept. 21, Oct. 5, Oct. 26, Nov. 9, Nov. 30

• Minutes from 7 Sept. Mtg. were reviewed.
• Terry gave a facilities update on the multimedia classrooms and the distance learning facility in 315 EDH. There was discussion of the "virtual office hour" experiment that is being explored by extension. There will be an IP based videoconferencing systyem in place in the room. This can be scheduled for "office hours." There was a discussion of the schedingling issues and the value added by video. It was agreed that we should support this "testbed." A discussion of the multimedia classrooms ensued. It was recommended that "elmos" be available as equipment in these rooms. The idea of an "elmo" for check out was discussed. The multimedia room planning process was revisited. The previous discussion and review of the multimedia classroom's design and specification was alluded to. Faculty was invited to provide input last spring (see TAC minutes)

• The computer distribution and upgrade information was presented and explained by Michael B.
• A brief discussion of the issues surrounding shared network folders was held. It will be an agenda item for the next TAC meeting. It was agreed that a meeting will be held on Friday the 29 th of October for the stakeholders and TAC to explore the issues and make recommendations on policies for shared folders for instructional purposes. These will be shared at the Next TAC meeting.
• A nondebatable motion to adjourn was made, seconded, and approved by action of foot.
